Useful Information about our School Ballycanew National School is a mainstream, co-educational primary school, with three special classes for children with Autism, serving the community of Ballycanew and its surrounding areas. It is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Ferns. We strive to make school a happy place for all children and we endeavour to prepare the children in our care for further education and lifelong learning. Our current student enrolment stands at 206 pupils. The seventh class teacher was secured in 2017/18 and our current enrolment for the current school year will secure an 8th mainstream teacher for the next school year.
