Useful Information about our School Ballycanew National School is a mainstream, co-educational primary school, with three special classes for children with Autism, serving the community of Ballycanew and its surrounding areas. It is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Ferns. We strive to make school a happy place for all children and we endeavour to prepare the children in our care for further education and lifelong learning. Our current student enrolment stands at 222 pupils. We currently have 8 mainstream class teachers, expanding to a 9th class teacher for the 2022/23 school year.
