First Green Flag
What we have done for The Green Schools
• Every year we have a school clean up day.
• We reuse reduce and recycle.
• We have raised money for school funds by recycling old clothes.
• We entered a competition for growing vegetables in the school garden.
• Jim Calorie came and talked to us about recycling and about waste reduction.
• We are gathering newspaper to recycle and be made into animal
bedding we hope to win gardening equipment for our school.
• We had an eco friendly container come to us and show how to
save energy.
• A representative from weee Ireland came to talk to us about recycling electrical items. He also left a bin that we could throw away any old electrics.
These are just some of the things that we have done to try to earn a green flag all the teachers and pupils have been working very hard to make our school a lot greener . We hope to have a green flag by the end of the summer!

We received our second Green Flag for water preservation.
